Ok, I am going to let you in on a little secret. I was super broke last Christmas. Between having a one-year-old and a three-year-old and being a 100% single mom, it was hard to take on as many assignments as I needed to make ends meet. However, Amazon had a bunch of cool deals and offers that really helped, even though I wasn’t a Prime Member. Keep reading to find out how I stretched your budget a little on Amazon.

1-Get Up to $150 When You Are Approved for an Amazon Rewards Credi Card

The first thing I did was applied for an Amazon credit card and got a gift card for being approved. The amount of the gift card seems to vary, so be on the lookout for the best offer. I’ve seen this offer as high as $150. 

Interest-Free Payments

People were super bummed when Walmart ditched its interest-free layaway program last year, and a lot of places that offer payment plans have interest. However, Amazon still has interest-free payments for parents that got a little behind in saving for Christmas. I definitely took advantage of that this year. I am paying about $40 a month over the next six months. Just be super careful not to spend more than you can afford monthly. 

Found Pretty Good Deals on Regular, But Still, Cool Toys

While Amazon doesn’t always have the best prices on the hottest toys, it does have great deals on great toys that might not be quite this year’s “Cabbage Patch Kid” but are sure to be a hit, like Legos and Disney toys. 

Drawbacks to Using Amazon

 Amazon is great for a lot of things, but it does seem like there are quite a few scalpers and people who really mark up toys, especially hot toys. Pro-tip: Always cross-check prices on Target and the manufacturer’s website if possible. Some manufacturers even offer free shipping on all orders, like TY, surprisingly. I also find that stocking stuffers seem cheaper at Target. I think you’ll still save the most money shopping around.
