Writing is an excellent option for work-at-home moms because it is flexible, done on your own time, and allows you to work as much or as little as you want. There are many ways to make money as a writer, so you can always try something that feels new and exciting. Here are some of my favorite ways to make money as a writer. 1-Start a Blog

2-Copywriting

One of the top ways I make money as a writer is copywriting. Copywriting is a form of marketing that encourages potential customers to take action and is used to help a company make more sales. This can be through web content, email marketing, and more. Many companies will hire beginners with no experience so getting started is not an issue.

3-Content Writing

Content writing is similar to copywriting, and many companies, such as The HOTH, where I work, will hire a writer to do both. However, they are somewhat different. Content writers write blog posts, articles, and other informative or inspirational content for companies and blogs. 

4-Freelance Journalism

As a freelance journalist, you could write articles for print and online media outlets. These articles can be as little as a few hundred words to several thousand words. These articles are more formal than content writing and are designed to inform but not sell. You can write for parenting magazines, travel sites, and more. 

5-Writing Romance Novels

When I first started my writing career, I never dreamed that I’d start writing romance novels under a pen name, but this is one of the most profitable and fun ways to make money. It is not uncommon for self-published romance writers to make six figures on Amazon. 6-Become a Ghostwriter

This is another excellent career for aspiring authors and a great way to hone your craft. Essentially people pay you to write their stories or memoirs for them. You can find clients on job board sites like Fiverr or Upwork to get started. Some ghostwriters are getting paid six figures or more. 

7-Write eBooks 

There is a huge demand for educational content and non-fiction books. My first online product was my eBook 1000 Ways to WAHM, a guide to help you find work-at-home jobs as a mom. You can sell these books on their own or create a course around them for even more money. 

8-Technical Writing

Technical writing is an excellent choice for writers who are comfortable explaining complex subject matter and can include writing manuals, handbooks, and other informative content about technology. This is a high-paying career with top earners making over $100,000 a year. 

9-Writing Scripts for Podcasts & Videos

Podcasts are exploding in popularity with thousands of new podcasts launching a day, and someone needs to write all of them! Video is also becoming more important to marketing, and companies are paying writers to come up with content for these videos. You can get started on Fiverr right away. 

10-Writing Product Descriptions

Here is a little secret. Everything is a search engine, including Amazon, and a well-written product description is the best way for sellers to make more sales. In order to write a good product description, you will need to understand basic keyword optimization, but this is a skill that can be pretty easy to learn. Here are some tips to get you started.
