1-Holiday Gift Guides

This is one of my favorite side hustles and one I do every year. To get started, I signed up for an Amazon affiliate account. Then, I created several blog posts recommending different gift ideas for different people. If someone makes a purchase through my link, I get a commission. It’s fun, easy, and a great way to get started with affiliate marketing. Want to learn more about affiliate marketing? Check out my guide! Curious about blogging? Check out my seven-day challenge!

2-Become a Festive Content Creator

Blogging isn’t the only way to help people find the perfect gift ideas for their loved ones. You can also use social media to help people find awesome gifts for their families. There are so many ways to do this—you can promote TikTok shops, share Amazon affiliate links in Facebook groups, and more!

3-Help People Save Money

Money can be tight this time of year for many people, but did you know you can get paid to help people save with cashback apps? Almost every cashback app has a referral program that will pay you a commission for every person who signs up and starts to save. Some of these referrals can be as high as $40, plus you can use them to save yourself!  Some of my favorite apps to promote include:

  1. TopCashBack
  2. BeFrugal
  3. Rakuten
  4. Fetch
  5. Ibotta
  6. Lolli
  7. Shopkicks
  8. Dosh

You can promote them on a blog, through an email list, or on social media.

4-Sell Holiday Printables

Are you a mom who loves creating cute Christmas lists and letters from Santa? Do you have a letter that your elf leaves when they first arrive? There are so many different holiday printables you can create in Canva and sell in an Etsy shop or Stan Store, from holiday planners to coloring pages.

5-Sell Christmas Invitations & Christmas Cards

Holiday printables aren’t the only way to get creative this time of year. You can also create Christmas invitations and Christmas cards. You can sell them as a printable digital file, or you can use a company like Printify or Zazzle to print them and sell them as physical products.

6-Make Print-On-Demand Gifts

Have you always dreamed of playing Santa? Here is your chance. You can partner with a print-on-demand company like Printify to create different gifts like t-shirts, mugs, and more. All you have to do is choose the product, upload an image, and start promoting your products. You can sell them in the Etsy store or on the Shopify website and promote them on social media and other places.

7-Sell Handmade Gifts

If you are a little more crafty, you can also try your hand at making one-of-a-kind handmade gifts. This can be anything from soaps and crayons to acrylic art to knitted gifts and more. The possibilities are endless.

8-Create Gift Bundles & Baskets

There is nothing better than getting a gift basket full of fun surprises–except creating a gift basket full of surprises. You can create self-care baskets, baskets for book lovers, and gift bundles for new parents. It’s also a great way to turn your passion into cash.

9-Create Custom Ornaments

Christmas ornaments hold a special place in many people’s hearts as they often chronicle special moments in our lives or even just the things we love and the memories we’ve made over the years. (Plus, you get to put them away after Christmas is over!) You can get in on the magic by creating and selling custom ornaments, either by making them yourself or by creating an account with a print-on-demand company like Printify

10-Sell Baked Goods

Are you known for your chocolate cookies or a whiz with whipped toppings? With more people hosting parties during the holiday season, they might not have as much time for baking. That’s why this time of year can be a boon for small bakers or those just starting out.

11-Holiday House Cleaning

Houses tend to get a little extra messy this time of year, and with all the holiday gatherings, people are in desperate need of someone to help them with the extra load. If you are good with the mop and broom, it might be a great time to offer holiday house cleaning services.

12-Hang Christmas Lights

Hanging Christmas lights is a big business, with some companies charging up to $100 per hour. You can get in on the action by working with one of these companies or by starting your own! Just be sure to follow all safety regulations and town ordinances.

13-Gift Wrapping

Gift wrapping is an art that many people are willing to pay for to save time and add a special touch to their presents. You can offer your services in local markets, partner with stores to provide in-house wrapping options, or even market your business online.

14-Pet Sitting

The holiday season often means travel and pet owners need someone to keep their furry friends happy. It’s also a great time for new pet sitters to get their foot in the door. You can try advertising on your own, or you can try a service such as Rover

15-House Sitting

House sitting is another great holiday side hustle, especially when people travel to visit family or take vacations. As a house sitter, you are responsible for maintaining the home, collecting mail, and sometimes caring for small pets.

16-Holiday Event Planning

Holiday event planning is a perfect side hustle for those who excel in organization and creativity. Many people and companies host parties and gatherings during the season but need help with planning and execution. You can assist with everything from venue selection to catering and entertainment and more.

17-Shovel Snow

Shoveling snow is a classic winter side hustle for people who live in snowy areas. Many people either can’t or don’t have time to tackle this labor-intensive task themselves. By offering your services, you can help keep driveways and sidewalks clear and safe for your neighbors.

18-Driving Uber

I did this one year ago, and it was honestly a great source of income. Driving for Uber during the holiday season can be especially profitable as more people are out and about and need someone to help them get home safely. It’s also super flexible.

19-Grocery Shopping

The holiday time crunch is real–which can be great for people looking for a little extra money this time of year. You can sign up for an app like Instacart or Shipt and get paid to help people get all their holiday shopping done with ease.

20-Sell Planners for 2024

Did you know that the planning industry is a multi-million dollar industry? It makes sense if you think about it since everyone is trying to get their life organized, especially with 2025 just a few months away. You can create a digital planner in Canva and sell it on Etsy, or you can upload your planner to Kindle Direct Publishing as a low-content book and sell it on Amazon.

21-Microtask Website

Microtasks are small jobs that companies and individuals need help with. While they often don’t pay a lot, these tasks usually only take a few minutes to complete. I’ve just started doing these, so if you want to follow my journey, be sure to check out my TikTok and follow along. Here are the ones I am using:

22-Take Surveys

Taking surveys is an easy and flexible way to earn money online during the holiday season. Many companies seek consumer opinions to shape their products and services. By signing up with survey sites, you can share your views and get paid for your time. This side hustle can be done at your convenience, making it ideal for fitting around a busy holiday schedule. Here are some of my favorite sites:

23-Sell Gigs on Fiverr

Fiverr is a platform where you can sell a variety of services, or “gigs,” to clients worldwide. Whether you have skills in graphic design, writing, or digital marketing, you can offer your expertise during the holiday season.

24-Become a Hallmark Holiday Merchandiser

Becoming a Hallmark holiday merchandiser is a festive way to earn extra income while spreading holiday cheer. This role involves setting up and maintaining product displays in stores, ensuring they are attractive and well-stocked. It’s a perfect side hustle for those who enjoy retail and have an eye for detail.

25-Write a Christmas-Themed Novellas

If you are a sucker for a happy ending and you love to write, you might want to consider writing a Christmas-themed, Hallmark-style Christmas love story that has readers swooning. This gig is perfect for people who always wanted to write a book but aren’t ready to commit to a full-length novel quite yet. Once you are done, you can self-publish it right on Kindle Direct Publishing and sell it on Amazon.
