Think Outside the Box!
If you have been looking for a remote job, you might have noticed that many sites recommend similar careers. Jobs like writing, virtual assisting, transcription, and teaching English really are popular for a reason, but they aren’t for everyone. If none of those interest you, don’t despair! There are a bunch of great ways to make money online! Check out some of these options! Some are traditional jobs, others are freelance, but they are all great ways to make money!
Audiobook Narrator
You might be wondering if there is a demand for audiobook narrators and voiceover artists. Absolutely! More than 71,000 audiobooks were published in 2020! The audiobook industry is booming, so now is the time to jump in. Check out ACX to find out how to become a professional narrator!
Pinterest Marketer
Most people don’t realize this, but Pinterest is actually a search engine and a powerful one. It is one of the best ways for online businesses to market their products, but it can be time-consuming. That is where a Pinterest marketer comes in! You’d be responsible for creating pins and posting for these businesses. Pinterest VA is one company that hires Pinterest marketers, or you can start your own business.
Insurance Sales & Claims
Ok, this might not seem like the most exciting job, but it is a great way to build your resume, and many companies provide on-the-job training. Typically you do not need a degree to be an insurance claims processor or insurance sales agent. Sales agents make around $50,000 a year but can make up to $100,000. New York Life and Progressive are just two options, but it’s worth checking out all the household names like Humana and Farmers.
Product Lister
This is an excellent career for people who kind of like to write, but not that much. As a copywriter, product listings are some of my favorite assignments because they are short and typically pretty easy. There are currently twelve million product listings on Amazon and millions more on eBay, Etsy, and other sites. Additionally, there are thousands of Shopify stores and other eCommerce websites. You can try listing your services on Fiverr to get started or try a content marketing company like BKA Content or The HOTH.<~My personal favorite!
User Testing
There are a bunch of user testing companies out there that pay you to test their websites and make sure all the links are working properly (including UserTesting), but this is actually another service you can sell on Fiverr. I have never sold this particular gig, but it’s pretty popular and can pay well.
Clinical Data Coordinator
To be a clinical data coordinator, you typically need a college degree in science, so it’s not for everyone. However, if you have the degree (or want to go back to school), there are plenty of openings, and the pay is pretty decent. Clinical data coordinators handle the data for clinical trials and play a vital role in medical research. Check out this list from Flexjobs to learn more.
Podcasting Services
You may or may not have to go to school for some of these services, but this is a surprisingly excellent career option. Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular, and these podcasters need a wide range of services, from transcription to creating videocasts. Check out Podjobs to start looking.
Sell Your Hobbies
There are literally hundreds of ways to sell your hobbies. You can offer virtual classes, create an online course or sell services related to your hobby. Love reading? Offer a beta reading gig on Fiverr. Have a talent for art? Create a class and offer it on Skillshare. The possibilities are endless.
Powerpoint Presentations
If you are a wiz with Powerpoint or similar software, you might want to consider offering a related gig on Fiverr. Presentation packages go for as much as $450 and can be a great source of income once you get started.
Psychic
Is this a real thing? Can you make money doing it? The answer is yes and yes! Companies like Paramount Solutions hire gifted psychics to provide readings over the phone, or you can offer a freelance service! According to IBIS, it is actually a $2.2 billion business and growing, which means there is plenty of opportunities for people with a give for reading the future!
